The Vorpal Wand - Alice Madness Returns - inspired

This one-of-a-kind wand is for Mimi from Germany.

For this design we chose the main weapon from Alice, which is the main character of American McGee's Alice from 2000 and Alice Madness Returns from 2011.
The Vorpal blade is a 48cm long knife with a richly decorated handle and blade.



I'm a big fan of the game series and the design comes up my mind, long time ago, but with a special stand for it (which will be built in the future).
Mimi is also a fan of Alice, and I now had the opportunity to merge these two worlds.

The basic form of the wand was done on the lathe and then all the details with the Dremel.
Because of the limited space, It was only partially possible to create the carvings, comparison to the original design.
The handpiece was stained yellowish-brown and the shaft was painted silver with the help of a leafing pen.
I have edited both of these with a special technique so that the contours can be highlighted and make everything look "old".
On the wand are 3 butterflies engraved. 2 on the "blade" and one at the end of the handle.
In addition, flowers, leaves, hearts and fantasy elements can be seen.
Instead of "Vorpal Blade est. 1865", which can be seen on the knife handle, I burned "Vorpal Wand 1991" into the wand handle.
The number 1991 is Mimi's birth year.

The wand is 12.5 inches long (about 31.75cm) and made of elder wood.
Handcrafted box, Slytherin colored.
